Christmas morning

Merry Christmas!!!
I do not think I will ever forget this Christmas. Right now it is 8:40 Christmas morning and I am the only one out of bed. It all started when Ben and I got sick the day before Christmas Eve. We were pretty much better by yesterday, but last night, Mom and Trent got it and were up all night. Who knows, maybe this will be the most memorable Christmas. We will not get to go to Birmingham today, or see our other Grandparents this morning. I am not complaining, I just feel really sorry for Trent and Mom and Dad (who is probably getting it too). I did read the Christmas story out of the Bible this morning, so no matter what else happens today, I do feel in the real Christmas spirit. =)

Christmas

Christmas is only 10 days away. Every year around Thanksgiving I start thinking, It would probably be a good idea to start looking for Christmas gifts... and here it is, 10 days till Christmas, and I do not have anything on my "to get" list marked off. Oh well, I always have them all wrapped and under the tree on Christmas morning (even if I am hitch-hiking home on Christmas eve and am up till 3am.. wrapping).
I also do not know why, but every year, my little brothers get up at 6:30 a.m. and jump on my bed until I wake up (which hurts because my oldest little brother weighs as much as I do!). They usually have me drug out of bed by 7 (crawling and bleeding).
Speaking of traditions....EVERY YEAR Dad climbs up on the roof over our rooms at about 10 p.m. on Christmas Eve and stomps and shakes a jingle bell wreath to make us think he is Santa. Every year I forget, and he scares me to half to death!!! Usually, after I recover, I am thinking, Goodness! We all know there is no such thing as Santa...you can get off the roof now! It is funny, though, because we usually have a hard time getting Ben to bed. Just as he starts to drift off to sleep, good ole Dad starts stomping on the roof. It would not be Christmas with out the frightening stomping, though.
Well, I will stop talking because I'm sure all of you people have better things to do. I hope you all have better luck shopping than I! =)

pillowcases

I made these pillowcases for a little girl at church and her new baby sister. It took me a looong time to finish them. Doing the names were the hard part. I was so excitied when I finished them today! Haha...I know it is funny to picture me sewing...=)

Christmas Tree

Yeah, It's that time of year again...

Basketball season starts, People finally start looking at the Christmas Ilse in Hobby Lobby that have been stocked since July, I am forced to pull out my winter clothes, and really annoying Christmas songs get stuck in my head. This past weekend I put up our Christmas tree with my little bro, Ben. It is a tradition that I put up the tree. (my dad came up with that of course) I don't mind too much, though. I am one of the only ones in my family that can reach to put the limbs on anyways. =)

YLC

Youth Leadership Conference~2008

This past week I was chosen to attend a youth leadership conference hosted by the MOWW chapter in Huntsville. It was AWSOME! I learned many different aspects and attitudes of being a leader. I also met the greatest group of kids I've ever done anything like that with. I felt like we all bonded and became a family. I was impressed how supporting and nice all my peers were. We slept in the Space habitat and I felt like us 7 girls where crammed into a closet where we only got about 5 hours of sleep per night. Talk about bonding...hehehe! :) I was ready to come home and sleep in my own bed, but I was not ready to leave all the great friends I made. :( I did sleep for 3 hours straight when I got home though...

This is my team. We were called "Maroon 11" and our motto was "Marooned on the moon". =)

And Kellie...

And Zack (a.k.a. party boy)

And last but not least Patrick! (I look like a ghost!! Oooo...)

And here is my awesome t-shirt I wore for 4 days straight...yeah, It doesn't smell so awesome :) I got just about everyone's name on it!

We made up this funny rhyme that doesn't really rhyme...but I don't know what else to call it! =) I tried and tried, but I just couldn't say it right!!!

Mr. Dunlap did the funniest dance after the talent show Friday night! :)

Book

I'm now reading the book by Robert Lewis Stephenson called "Treasure Island"
